doTERRA Frankincense Essential Oil

First, Frankincense is often deemed the “King of all Oils”. Due to it’s extensive health benefits, it is one of the most prized essential oils. It has been used since ancient times to soothe skin and is found in many religious contexts as well.

Frankincense comes from the Boswellia species of tree and is native to Ethiopia, Somalia, India, and the Arabic Peninsula and has been used in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese health practices.

In addition, new studies continue to release about how Frankincense essential oil works within the body. Read here about how this study suggests that Frankincense essential oil supports a healthy inflammatory response in skin cells.

Our favorite ways to use this oil include:

  • Diffuse during yoga or meditation to help set your intention.
  • Take one to two drops in a Veggie capsule to support healthy cellular function.*
  • Support the appearance of blemishes and fine lines by adding a drop to your facial moisturizer.
  • Apply topically to the bottom of the feet or take a drop internally to support feelings of peace and balance.
  • After a busy day outdoors, utilize in a massage for a soothing and warming effect.
  • May support: immune function and response, the health of the cardiovascular system, healthy liver function, the digestive system and healthy joint and musculoskeletal system.
(In other words, it helps most of the body.)
doTERRA Blue Tansy Essential Oil

doTERRA Blue Tansy essential oil is similar and often grouped with the Chamomile oils. It comes from a yellow-flowered plant in Morocco.

First and foremost, Blue Tansy essential oil is known for its rich, beautiful blue color. When first applied, it may make you look a bit Smurf-like. However, have no fear because the oil quickly absorbs and leaves no blue traces on the skin.

Blue Tansy oil can be used topically and aromatically. (Unfortunately, this is not an oil used by internal consumption.)

Blue Tansy is found in both the Soothing Blend (Deep Blue) and the Grounding Blend (Balance). This demonstrates its properties to soothe both the body and the mind.

Here are a few ways we love to use this oil:

  • Dilute and use to soothe muscles. One drop is all you need!
  • Diffuse for an uplifting feeling. We love to blend it with Spearmint, Petitgrain or Wild Orange.
  • Add a few drops to your bath with one tablespoon of Fractionated Coconut oil and a cup of epson salts.
  • Apply diluted to the chest to support the feeling of open airways and support the respiratory system during seasonal changes.
  • Emotionally, Blue Tansy is known as an oil to inspire action. Diffuse or apply topically in times you need support with procrastination or resistance to change.

Why are they a Perfect Pair?

We believe that Blue Tansy is Frankincense’s Perfect Pairing, and there are many reasons why. Mostly, they have many overlapping health benefits specifically supporting your skin and muscular system.

Independently, each of these oils is a powerhouse for your health and wellness. When combined, you can maximize their effects.

Skin Soothing Support
Add one drop of doTERRA Frankincense and Blue Tansy to your moisturizer each night before bed. Apply to the face, neck and hands in an upward motion. Next, follow over that with a Jade roller to support circulation and the lymphatic system.

Both oils have amazing chemical properties that support the appearance of your skin.

Muscle Soothing Support
Make a roller bottle to have on hand for any muscular support you may need.
In a 10ml bottle, add 15 drops of Frankincense and 5 drops of Blue Tansy. Fill the rest with Fractionated Coconut oil.
Before each use, shake to disperse the oils evenly.

No time to make a roller bottle? Take one drop of each Frankincense and Blue Tansy and dilute to massage directly into muscles needing support.
